Some of my Fathers famous sayings (and most repetitive)You can have all the book smarts in the world, but ain't going to do ya no goodwithout any common sense
Don't think you are too old for an ass whippin -- your not THAT big.
Anyone can learn to do a job, but unless the get off there ass and do it, it doesn't do any good!
Be a Trooper
Give It a Whirl
Every thing you do has has a consequence -- do something good and you are rewarded -- something wrong and suffer that consequence
You don't know what hard was -- say it again and we are going out to the farm
Kids these days ain't got no work ethic -- that is someone that either have or ya don't
If someone doesn't believe in anything, they will fall for everything.
Think with your head, and not your heart
The weak don't get to win shit, the strong is what survives
When asked if mad, no I am just disappointed
That is great, for the price of higher learning -- and you come out as an atheist and a democrat!
The people that know me will be surprised by the last one, however I was a die-hard liberal out of high school and college (my poor father!). My dad (both my parents actually) encouraged us to search out information and form our own opinions, never told us we were wrong -- but debated us (to show us the other side and make sure we had some reason behind it). That was followed by a slow, gradual move to the right. It wasn't until 9/11 until I really saw myself as a conservative and what I like to call "saw the light" -- then things fit, one day ofter understanding why -- called my father to let him know.....
THANK YOU -- for planting the seeds -- it all makes sense! His response? Laughter!
I love you Dad!
