Aruba...Holloway...VanDer Sloot Reminds Me Of Chappaquiddick, Kennedy, and Mary Jo

Ok -- I have to comment on all this media attention/media analysis of the Aruba/Holloway/Van Der Sloot case. Let me first say that, I (especially as a parent) can not imagine the hell it would be to not know what the hell happened to my daughter and have must respect for the family and what her mother is doing to find out......

.... but with that being said, I love the way the media is trashing this country's (foriegn) political and judicial system. It would be common sense to assume that the country of Aruba would not be run as that of the United States -- as much as the experts would love critique and point the fingers at the investigators, or the fact that no one has been officially charged or of their failed interrogation techniques. HELLO -- if this had happened in OUR country -- no one would have been detained for any amount of time -- look how long it took to charge Scott Peterson (after the bodies washed up), and look how that trial could have gone either way up until the end...... (thank god, the Michael Jackson jury didn't get their paws on that one). Interrogation would not even be allowed to happened, period, as soon as the person used their rights to obtain a attorney. I mean really, when was the last time, THE JUDGE, in the US actually interrogated a possible suspect.

And you can claim and speculate, coverup -- or the fact that in important member of their society's son will get off -- and we know that would never happen in our country right???? ummmmm wait -- there was that whole Chappaquiddick, Ted Kennedy, Mary Jo Kopechne thing....

.... so let's not be so quick to judge the Dutch Justice system, when our own needs a little work....
