Un-Politically Correct - It is about time!

We live in a society where we are a afraid to offend, and need to be P.C. to ease the blows....It is time to go back to basics, say it like it is...straight forward, direct... and if your offended, then "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"...

My Dad -- My Hero

A couple years ago, I was asked, "who is your hero" -- without thinking twice my response -- MY DAD. The traits that he held so dear, the morals that he so relentlessly tried to instill, and the values that he expected -- without it I would have the opportunity to be the strong, intelligent, and independent woman I am today. Now, I am sure that as parents they may not see that, I do know from conversations and growing up (and believe me -- I was not the easiest child to raise (more accurate -- HELL, especially those teen years) -- he will always see me as his little girl and never realize what a profound impact he has had in my life.

MY HERO
As I ponder the love that I saw in his eyes,
A Godly love, given without compromise....
I recall many times that he stood by my side,
And prodded me on with great vigor and pride.
His voice ever confident, firm and yet fair,
Always speaking with patience, tenderness and care.
The power and might of his hands was so sure,
I knew there was nothing we couldn't endure.
It's true, a few others provided insight,
Yet, he laid the foundation that kept me upright.
He's the grandest of men to have lived on this earth,
Although he's not royal by stature or birth.
He's a man of great dignity, honor and strength.
His merits are noble, and of admirable length.
He's far greater than all other men that I know,
He's my Dad, he's my mentor, my friend and hero.
